Biography

Julie Keon has provided assistance to couples through labour, childbirth and the postnatal period since 1998. She is a Certified Labour Doula, Certified Postpartum Doula, Certified Breastfeeding Counsellor, and skilled prenatal educator. As well as being profiled in newspaper and magazine articles, Julie has been a guest on CTV’s Canada AM and CBC Radio. 

Julie was a nominee for the YM/YWCA Women of Distinction Awards 2000 for her role in educating families and professionals on the importance of labour support in creating positive birth experiences. She has attended over 100 births in home and hospital settings and works with both doctors and midwives. Presently, Julie shares her extensive knowledge and experience in the childbirth field with expectant parents in the Ottawa valley. Recently, Julie began teaching a prenatal series in Ottawa exclusively to clients of midwives. She resides in Cobden with her husband, Tim, and their daughter, Meredith.
